Changes proposed to firearm regulations in Castle Rock | |
November 24th, 2013 |
Citizens of Castle Rock should be advised that the Castle Rock Town Council will reportedly be considering changes in the municipal code regarding the open carry of firearms. The changes are scheduled to be discussed at the town council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 3rd which will be held at 100 Wilcox St, Castle Rock, 80104 at 6pm.
The current Castle Rock municipal code states that it is unlawful "to openly carry a firearm in any Town-owned or -operated building, or on any Town-owned or -operated park, recreation area or property."
The proposal that will be considered by town council will expand the restriction of open carry to include "municipally-owned, operated or leased: (i) offices, (ii) buildings, (iii) parks, trails and open space areas, and (iii) other recreation facilities and areas, including but not limited to, swimming pools and golf courses."
