Last Call for Douglas County Republican Picnic

September 16th, 2009

This is the last call for the Douglas County Republican Picnic.  If you're planning on attending the picnic, we need your RSVP by Thursday, September 17th, at 9am!

NOTE: If you've already paid for your reservation or made arrangements with Pat Nohavec, it's not necessary to confirm your reservations with her.

The Douglas County Republican Picnic will be on this Saturday, September 19th, from noon until 4:00pm at its traditional location at the Wiens’ Ranch.

This is a perfect opportunity to have a relaxed, enjoyable afternoon with fellow Republican party members, activists, elected officials, and candidates in upcoming elections.  You'll have fun and meet lots of great people, too!

Many candidates for statewide office will be joining us at the picnic.  We are expecting (in alphabetical order) candidates for governor Dan Maes, Scott McInnis, and Josh Penry;  candidates for U.S. Senate Ken Buck, Ryan Frazier, and Tom Wiens; candidate for Colorado Secretary of State J.J. Ament, and candidate for Colorado Tresaurer Scott Gessler.  The majority of our local state representatives, state senators, and county officials will also be attending, as well as many local candidates who are running for school board in 2009 and other offices in 2010.

The picnic will feature a traditional barbeque with beef brisket, chicken, spare ribs, beans, coleslaw, potato Salad, bread, iced tea & lemonade.  There will be games for children and music by the "Jon Wieland Family," a softball game, and an auction.

There will be a Dessert/Wine Basket Auction Fundraiser which, this year, we are expanding to include wine baskets or gift baskets to help with election expenses.  Please help with fundraising by donating an item to the auction.  Everyone that attends is invited to bring a baked good or anything else you'd be willing to donate to the auction.   You don't have to bake it yourself--it doesn't even have to be food!

Invite your friends and neighbors so they too can get involved!  Don't know anyone in your Douglas County Republican Party?  This is a great place to get to know everyone!

For more information and to make reservations, please visit http://www.dcgop.org or contact Pat Nohavec.  Be sure to make your reservations early to guarantee a spot and to take advantage of the lower price currently being offered on the website.

We look forward to seeing you there!
