Congressman Mike Coffman is a former small business owner and a Marine Corps combat veteran with a combined 21 years of military service between the US Army, the Army Reserve, the US Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Reserve. He served in both the first Gulf War and in the Iraq War.

He grew up in Aurora and attended Aurora Public Schools, earned a high school diploma through an Army program, and is a graduate of the University of Colorado.

Prior to being elected to Congress in 2008, he held the offices of State Representative, State Senator, State Treasurer, and Secretary of State.

In Congress, Congressman Coffman serves on the House Armed Services Committee and is the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee for the House Committee on Veterans Affairs.

Mike is married to Cynthia Coffman, the Attorney General for the State of Colorado.
