On December 30, 2009 Douglas County Republican Chairman John Ransom submitted his written resignation, effective December 31, 2009.  As a result, a vacancy in the office of Chairman has been declared by the Secretary.

A Vacancy Committee Meeting for the purpose of electing a new Chairman, and to fill any other officer vacancies that may result from the election of a new Chairman, is tentatively planned for Tuesday, January 19th, 2010.  Details will be announced as they become available and an Official Call will be issued, as per the bylaws.

In the interim, as indicated by the bylaws, Vice Chairman Mark Baisley will be fulfilling the duties of Chairman with the full support of Secretary Craig Steiner and Treasurer John Fielding.
