Due to the resignation of the Vice-Chair of the Douglas County Republican Party, an Official Call has been issued to the members of the DCR Central Committee for a Vacancy Committee Meeting to elect a vice-chair.

The Vacancy Committee Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Events Center at 7:00pm.  Credentialing will begin at 6:00pm.

Under the Bylaws of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee, subject to the requirements that no person can hold more than one elected DCR office at a given time and that no elected official can be an elected DCR officer, persons eligible to run for the office of vice-chair must (1) be residents of Douglas County, and (2) be registered to vote as Republicans in Douglas County, pursuant to state statutes. The Bylaws do not require that such persons presently be voting members of the DCR. 

Persons who wish to run for any vacant elected DCR office and who are not voting members of the DCR will be required to present proof of residence and registration at the meeting.  Those individuals intending to run for vice-chair that wish to appear on the pre-printed ballot should contact DCR Secretary Craig Steiner no later than Tuesday, June 15th.

Amendments to the bylaws will also be considered at this meeting; the text of the proposed amendments has been included in the Official Call sent to members of the DCR.
